Redhat on a 486 I think. Didn't get particularly far with it in the desktop context. Couple years later I did use it for a half year stint as desktop OS though. Linux in virtualization / server context has been better. Mostly using debian. Gonna have another desktop go at it via guac though...thinking Arch

Very tempted to build my own uptime service. Seems like something that should scale incredibly well if designed for that from the start

Wouldn't be surprised if we switch to this at work. We're already on tablets rather than laptops Personally not interested. Trying to self host more and monthly pay for less

wow that must be below cost @ assumed 1 usd per ip...

Cron job for on reboot. Can't think of a good way to do on shutdown though. Most stuff gets killed pretty fast on shutdown command being issued. If you have a 2nd machine you could just watch till the machine goes down I guess via ping

I'm looking into using a Gatsby + Ghost combo. I know that integration exists but haven't tried it i.e. You build it on Ghost with the WYSIWYG but then deploy it as a static site

It's entirely pointless. Weak throttled CPU mining will take a billion years to hit even min pay-out on a pool

Germany! Unfortunately they got matched with rather strong ones (France & Portugal)

Ads seem like the easier route...cause you have a captive targeted audience and advertisers already essentially. If possible can we make them static though. I personally find it tough reading text with moving stuff in peripheral vision. More ads seems preferable. Patron...maybe to sponsor specific initiatives / blog posts?…
