Thanks!

It’s too late anyway to consider it because I’ve already paid for mx route
-
I went with the regular yearly plan, not lifetime since I don't know if I am happy with it yet.
-
Oh. I already purchased MXRoute although I have not set it up yet because I will be traveling tomorrow. What's the difference between the two? I have seen MXRoute mentioned often but not the other one.
-
Update..... after reading more about the risks with spam filtering etc I decided to switch back to normal email hosting because I don't want to risk to affect the reputation of my domains. I didn't want to stay with Zoho though so I purchased a plan with MXroute, which many recommend.
-
I guess that's what I got charged anyway when I used it...

Interesting read https://support.google.com/mail/thread/146261119/can-email-forwarded-by-cloudflare-marked-as-spam-harm-the-domain-reputation?hl=en In Gmail's web app emails I get forwarded by Cloudflare show 'mailed-by: mydomain.com' not Cloudflare. Uhm
-
PM sent :)
-
Yeah I have Zoho paid for a while still so I'll see how it goes. In the worst case it takes just a few hours to switch back (config + email migration). But so far it looks promising
-
Just did the test and got this Looks good to me :D
-
Cloudflare basically has MX servers who receive the email and forward it to whichever address you configure. Do you have any resource confirming that flagging an email as spam in Gmail with this setup would mark Cloudflare as the spammer? It doesn't make much sense to me because forwarding is one basic email feature.
-
Pull from where? With this setup the email only gets stored in Gmail (or equivalent), it's not stored by Cloudflare. Cloudflare only forwards/routes the email and that's it :) Can you clarify?
-
What downsides? For 1), I use Gmail but this works with any free email service. What's wrong with Gmail as free account? For 2) I did offer the suggestion of using an SMTP relay :)
-
Can this be used as a replacement for Dropbox/Netxtcloud/etc or am I misunderstanding it? Can you create multiple users like with Nextcloud?
-
I ordered a Kimsufi dedi btw to see how it performs. It's just 25e/mo with 6TB
-
That's what I was using before :) But performance with Plex was not the best although it worked okaish
-
For me streaming with NordVPN was not good with some locations. At the moment I have subscriptions with Private Internet Access (which supports port forwarding, awesome for torrents) and KeepSolid.
-
Nice lists! Thanks for sharing, I have learned about a few tools I didn't know about :)
-
Ah.... I thought it had its own client with secure connection.
-
to be more on topic: I have all my photos in iCloud, and the library is synced to Nextcloud self hosted. My server is backed up to both Hetzner Storage Box and Backblaze B2.
-
Hope it's OK if I ask this here: can PhotoPrism be hooked to Nextcloud storage to retrieve the photos BUT without duplicating photos and without changing anything in the actual files in Nextcloud? Thanks

Do yo run PiHole/AdGuard on a server? If yes I guess you restrict access to port 53 by IP right? Otherwise your server could be used in amplification attacks. I have Gitea already. I have used Gitlab before and it's too much going on in comparison. I have read about it but I am confused. Do you need to install a client on…
-
I forgot to mention that I have in the queue for installation: * Floccus (cross browser bookmarks syncing) * Uptime Kuma * Portainer I don't think PiHole or AdGuard would bring much benefit if I use uBlock Origin, which can also block YouTube ads while the former two can't. What is required to use a home assistant? Will…

How do handle kernel and package upgrades that require reboots? do you keep your servers up to date? :D
-
Disappointing.
-
Yeah I can confirm, I don't see much difference in performance compared to local storage provided the latency between Nextcloud and the object storage isn't high. It's a different story though if you enable encryption.
-
:D
-
That's a pretty good single core score. How much per month?
-
ST Hosting special offer (still valid today) only 39 euros per year. I think this is one of the best deals I've had so far. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- OS : Debian GNU/Linux 10 (64 Bit) Virt/Kernel : Dedicated / 4.19.0-16-cloud-amd64 CPU Model : AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X…

Dokku is awesome. It's literally like Heroku but on your on server, so you can save quite a bit of cash. The only limitation worth noting is that it only supports one server. I wrote a quick how-to if you want to give it a try https://vitobotta.com/2022/02/16/deploying-an-app-with-dokku/
-
I would never, ever trust that a provider that gives me a bunch of storage for "life" with a one time fee would survive in the long term
-
I prefer something like Dokku because it supports the same buildpacks that Heroku uses
-
Yeah I realized. What's the point out of curiosity?

Ehm.... is it just me or is it not possible to edit a post? edit: Uhm... looks like I can only edit recent posts. Weird
