There's been several virmach san jose (look through history on virmach.app) and no there won't be a hetzner dedi special this BF. Alternative to Virmach San Jose there are some nice @freerangecloud BF offers in Fremont CA, which is fairly close to San Jose.

Nice I guess! Those are high current cells, a bit more expensive than regular cells of the same capacity, or lower capacity than regular cells of the same price, but I guess that is what you want :).

http://www.nkon.nl/ is supposed to be good seller in general. I believe they ship to the UK (from NL). They stopped shipping to the US a while ago, causing some sadness here.
-
Dunno about EU/UK but homedepot.com is having some pretty good sales in the US and Canada. What are you looking for? If really big stuff I'll PM you a link.
-
For a North American offer it is amazing: does anyone know the server location? Their site says Canada in several places, but doesn't say where the DC is. Anyone have a test IP?

Epyc! Glad those are appearing "in the wild".

Liteserver is solid.

Link to above is here, note 40% off coupon at top of page: https://liteserver.nl/hdd-storage-vps/ These days as a pure storage hog I find that offer kind of meh, but Liteserver is a good host.

hmm.... :)

Same offer is up for black fri at the other place. @cociu how about us?!! :(

But that's a bug-- clicking "mark all viewed" is supposed to tell the software that I'm NOT going to read all the posts ;). Maybe it could be called "catch up" or whatever.
-
Someone claims to have measured 49K+ passmark on a threadripper 3970x. :O
-
"Mark all viewed" doesn't seem to work. Don't know if that's been mentioned here yet, but when I click it, threads with unread posts only stop showing as such on the front page until someone posts in them again. The threads are not "caught up", so if there are 100 unread posts in a thread when I mark all viewed, then when…

Is that even a thing? How old? You don't mean SSD?

I think for serving a lot of concurrent connections flat out, LS is like nginx and uses an async model while Apache uses threads and incurs the overhead of OS level context switches. So Apache can't be as fast regardless of tweaking. But as mentioned the bottleneck is usually the application and databases rather than the…
-
THAT expensive? You can buy an awful lot of hardware for that amount. I've never had apache be a bottleneck. Slowness has always been in the application. But, I'm not hosting zillions of sites. If you're not hosting, what is the use case for LS?

What the hell does this stuff actually do anyway? I always took it for granted that there wasn't real money in anything having to do with the low end center, but those guys seem to be raking it in. I don't see the functionality that couldn't be implemented by a few nerds in a room with a subscription to Jolt Cola…

Seems gameable but if that happens, I guess we can react.
