Is SJC05 now considered stable? It is working fine for me but I haven't tried to really use it beyond playing around a little yet.
-
44 billion = too much. I'll pay 35 billion, that's the best I can do. I need to save money for more VPS.
-
Gotta wonder how many signed up with multiple accounts and got confused.
-
I remember that alternate forum. It is very violent there, and Spock has a beard.
-
It is actually pretty weird that there is no way to see the order ID again. Obviously they are retained on the back end, but it sounds like they are unreachable from the client. Maybe that is just a matter of fixing a template somewhere, so it is included in the invoice or the order confirmation email.
-
Client area backend now timing out when I try to access info for a server, "Operation Timed Out After 90001 Milliseconds With 0 Bytes Received".
-
It depends. Did you tick the box that said no refunds for this product? If yes, then there are no refunds. It was already explained, activation is slow if you post invoice numbers rather than order numbers. Your order will be activated or refunded eventually, but it can take up to 30 days.

Yeah I had an incident like this too, did the migration, moved my data from an old HH VM and cancelled the old one, but it renewed anyway. I put in a ticket and response took several days, but they did fix the issue once they got to it. By low end standards this isn't bad at all.
-
My idle server is down! I'm losing millions!!!
-
Yeah (partly directed to the other person who was having SJC issues): I got the email about SJC server migration. My VM is upright now but it says it booted an hour ago, so I guess troubleshooting is still in progress. The VM is still blazing fast, but I'll wait for the hardware to settle before deploying my production…
-
If it has not booted at all, connect through the console and see if there is an error message. In my case, the install image was messed up so I used a different one.
-
Whose fault do you think it was, if not yours?
-
For this special, it is absolutely to be expected. It says manual activation at the very beginning. If you want RackNerd you know where it is. Hetzner cpu performance in their shared core cloud product varies and the larger VM's tend to not be that great. They have a dedicated core VM product that costs a lot more, if you…

Well that would up to @Mason I guess. I'd say that at worst we got a bunch of new members signed up who aren't that interested in becoming steady forum participants. That ties up a few database rows but is basically harmless, so no big deal. It's then mostly a matter of whether you're reasonably happy with how the sale has…
-
It is weird, I remember seeing an upgrade button in the control panel somewhere, but then couldn't find it when I was also interested in upgrading. I take for granted that we don't get to ask for manual intervention as the process is intended (lol) to be as low hassle as possible at the hosting end. I don't know if the end…
-
It might help if that check box includes a link to the offers page that spells out the rules, and the person confirms that they understand them.
-
Go to control panel and reinstall. It may be fixed now but when I tried to install Debian 11, I got that error because of some trouble with the installer. I installed Debian 10 instead and then upgraded with apt-get, and that worked.
-
I'm on SJCZ003 and it's just blindingly fast. The NVMe disk is so much faster than the desktop SSD's in other VPS, that it makes it feel like everything is already cached in ram. I'm feeling remorse over not having chosen a bigger VM. I vaguely remember having seen an upgrade button in the web console somewhere, but I…
-
Wow, client area is really suffering under the ddos. I had to do 5+ captchas plus a password reset in order to log in, and then I can't reach the screens for individual servers. Will try again later I guess. Sympathy.
-
You're losing millions!
-
OMG it looks like LES got a lot of new signups because of this offer? Welcome, new members. Was this really the intention though? It effectively makes the offer non-exclusive. Rather than posting order numbers in the thread, maybe ask for them to be sent by PM, maybe to a secondary account to stop your main mailbox from…
-
Not sure what node I'm on, but Debian 11 template didn't work, said no cdrom or something like that. Debian 10 worked so I installed that and upgraded manually. Disk and network on the vps are extremely fast. Nice!
-
OGF = LET (original green forum). What was that about a promo code for storage? /Me always wants storage.
-
Niiiice, and in a surprisingly hard to get location too. Order # 7127431744. Added: this took some clicking around for me to find, so for anyone trying to find the same thing: the way you add store credit from a credit card is https://billing.virmach.com/clientarea.php?action=addfunds . Added 2: I suddenly remember I have…
-
Mine doesn't seem to have been down at all. I had an ssh session open last night and it is still connected. Storage is still mounted too. I'm used to having to remount it when anything happens.
-
Wait, what is that and where do you get it? Is it an Apple product (I hope not)? Interesting.
-
I might have to check again but I thought it worked out that C14 retrieval was free as long as the destination was inside online/scaleway. From there you could use one of their hourly vps to get the data out. There are command line tools around that implement the S3 API.
-
Whaat? Got any more of that? At €2/m there is C14 archive and also OVH cloud archive (latter has egress fees). C14 is a more interesting product. How much space are you looking for? With the bigger Hetzner SX servers you can get $/TB into your range, even with raid.
-
For backups, fixed bandwidth with some possibly of buying an emergency add-on is best. If you offer unlimited bandwidth you will be hosting seedboxes.
-
Yeah I'm in @CamoYoshi's situation, I didn't want to accept the test offer unless I felt at lease some likelihood of wanting to renew, which is why I asked about the pricing of larger plans. It would be for cold backups so I'm basically looking for cheap bulk storage without much cpu or anything.
-
I'm currently using Hetzner Storage Box but some of Servaraca's offers are comparable. 2TB for $48 a year is great: https://clients.servarica.com/store/black-friday-2021/polar-bear-storage-offer With that much data you don't want to move it around month to month anyway. There is a similar ("killer whale") 3.5TB plan for…
-
What will the price be for larger servers such as 8TB? Also, what is the server location? Thanks.
-
It might be easiest to open gitlab issues/tickets/whatever they call them describing the features you want, and then people could consider what it would take to implement them.
-
I've looked into this in the past, and dacentec has had some good offers, but I've never seen colo anywhere that was as cheap as Hetzner auction dedis, even just for the rack space and power. I also looked into bring your own drives which I consider to be a good idea. It is not that easy to find hosts will do it, but it…
