$7/month is already a lot.

You are checking the one produced by Holy Build Box, and therefore you shouldn't see any dynamic linked libraries beyond those standard libraries. For comparison, you can check fio and iperf3 from your system(after you install one), and you clearly see that they need other dynamic linked libraries: $ ldd /usr/bin/fio…

I sent a ticket to buyvm. They asked password for root. After I give it, they fixed it. However, it seems that they did nothing inside the VM, so I don't know why they ask for root password.

Many games!

Usually I do not change DNS myself. However, some VPS use cloudflare DNS which failed occasionally, so I changed them into 8.8.8.8

Thanks @yoursunny @cochon I'll ticket to Francisco.

@yoursunny @cochon @Neoon Thanks for the suggest. I use tcpdump and capture some packets. However, I could not understand the results. For example: UDP results: 13:35:16.707737 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 32, id 44610, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 63) ec2-54-246-47-134.eu-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com.5300 >…

I want to understand what does it means. Do you mean that others are trying to connect to my server and send some traffics? Regarding recyclying, this constant traffic only appears this month. Before that it has been idling for several months without such incoming traffic.

Firefox, because it can play youtube.

Probably they are pretty full. I'd like to wait a few day to see whether it becomes better.

Racknerd. ;) Upgraded from 7.3 to 7.4 several months ago.

Got one, seems good as I can use wireguard
-
For such price, I'm afraid that they will deadpool. :'(
-
There 'cores' @ YABS are the logical cores seen by the operating system. Geekbench uses all those logical cores in multicore benchmark. The point is that the number of logistic cores or threads doesn't determine the multicore performance. The number of physical cores determines that. Some CPUs have HT/SMT enabled, where…

Yes, thanks. Now I know that I need machines with high enough RAM per core, and high single core performance.
-
:'( I cannot buy anything, and I am sucked with current available hardware(although there are several possible choices).
-
It is a hybrid of architectural and hardware problem. Current architectural allows thread operates on different database so that avoid database locks. However, it means each thread needs some amount of data, and the machine do not have enough RAM. I agree that it should be fit into RAM, and thus I'm also testing that way.…
-
Lol. I don't pay for those hardware. So probably I should use SSD. At the begining I'm afraid that if SSD broke, I have to start from the begining. At some point I realize that I can save a snapshot and backup to another machine.
-
Not Chia. There are databases which serves as cache(because RAM is not large enough), and the computation need to iterative over all elements in such databases. In the iteration it will update various elements in other databases, hence it requires seeking. Currently using: dual Gold5118 with 64G RAM and HDD(RAM and disks…

Yes, most overwritten data are from the last few hours. There is one way to store those data in RAM instead of disk. But previous tests show that one thread will need >8GB RAM, and those machines have only 128GB RAM. Today I find a machine with 1TB RAM, and I'll test on that. The method you suggested sounds good, but it…

I see. The problem with HDD is that disk becomes the bottleneck instead of CPU :s . But slow HDD is better than broken SSD.
