Just in case you're thinking this is about the migrations, the discussion you're referring back to is actually about Ryzen Location Change button and @yoursunny opinions on it.
-
No need. That'll be my last comment. :)
-
You're right. You never said single production node. You said a 24h planned maintenance was too long. I inferred from that it must be an outage maintenance since otherwise who would care if it takes 24h. I think it was when you said:
-
I'm not telling them they can't. I'm saying if you have a single production node then you've already made the choice that taking a potentially long outage is acceptable. Bitching because the provider "only" lets you migrate within a twenty four hour window is not taking responsibility for your own decisions.
-
> If it's in production then don't migrate it. If it's not in production then who cares how long it takes. Or better, $50 express fee and you get it there in four hours.
-
I've done five or six without incident myself. Stay away from the west coast of the US and of course Tokyo and you're l likely fine. Just my $0.02.
-
How bizarre.
-
To add an ipv6 address? Why even touch the hardware for a software issue? Makes no sense.
-
I have trouble seeing how this could even happen. Hardware raid or software?
-
@Daevien's right, pretty sure they discontinued OVZ a few years back and converted everybody to KVM. I converted my ( formerly ) OVZ box over to Ryzen last month and it went fine.
-
Instances on the nodes are not, no. I asked that question previously though it was a while ago so Virmach may correct me.
-
No, those are TOTP. This is different.
-
Interesting ... I hadn't noticed the correlation. All three are BF-SPECIAL-2020 .

You use 'package names' so I want to make sure I wasn't unclear, this is ISOs in the billing panel. AMSD028 and NYCB014 both only show: * CentOS 6.8 X86 64 Minimal * CentOS 7 X86 64 Minimal 1611 * Debian 8.2.0 Amd64 Netinst * Debian 9.1.0 Amd64 Netinst It's not super important. I've got an OS and I'm happily playing. EDIT:…
-
Oooo nifty! I remembered reading about Debian having some hocus-pocus you could do but didn't realize it was that simple. TYVM!
-
I did notice the ones in the billing panel. They're just ancient CentOS and ancient Debian. Was hoping for a netboot.xyz. :) Good to know I'm not blind though. At least I have that going for me.
-
Since the Ryzen button came back I migrated two of my boxes - one AMS and one NYC. Was a bit quirky - feels like maybe you have to wait longer than expected before they're actually ready - but I got there in the end. I notice there's no CD's in SolusVM to install the OS? Or am I blind?
-
Just a quick "thank you" for that explanation. I've been frustrated more than once to click through on one of your offers and get blocked despite being on a dedicated ip at hosthatch or virmach. Now that I understand why I'm not nearly as annoyed. :)
-
Nobody ever means that description. When they mean that they don't bother to ask. ;-)
-
Right up until they ban you for breaking the AUP.
-
I have no reason or interest in flaming at this time but if it please the court I would like to reserve the right to make such statements at a later date. You have a good day too. :)
-
Yeah, I'll wait a while and see what happens. Both my Seattle and Atlanta box went fine. Just unfortunate this box is/was my dns master so I'm a little antsy. Nope, no need. :)
-
No I mean it literally didn't change. Not in the WebUI , not in the DHCP table ( was already static, tried DHCP just in case), no email telling me what my new IP is, .... All good suggestions, I already tried them all. :) This was more a surprise it was turned back on at all since I didn't do it. I saw it was back online…
-
It's weird. My NY vps that was on one of the nodes being migrated is now on Ryzen but my IP didn't change so I can't communicate with anything. Pinging some random local IPs it appears that I'm not alone either ....
-
How big is it supposed to be? It looks like it's 80gig.
-
That would be unfortunate though understandable.
-
I have some document management items and some family photos.
-
You have been lucky. I've had two of my VPN providers die - liquidvpn and proxy.sh - and one of my smartdns providers.
-
Oh man ... I totally couldn't be trusted with that. :D
-
So that's a no then?
-
So you've tried their non-LET plans and their support is just as bad?
-
No, but your lesson is definitely different than Virmach's and likely a harder one to learn
-
Wait, so you ordered a service which says putting in tickets without following the proper process will cause your renewal price to get increased, then put in four tickets, and you're confused why your renewal got increased?
-
Just for reference, you don't have to "find" the order number. When you pay it puts it right there on the screen for you.
-
In no way blaming the victim but if I put that in I would've explicitly said which I wanted deleted. Something important and irrevocable you don't want any room for misunderstandings.
-
And you know what they say when you assume. That does suck though. Hope it gets straightened out for you.
